The GOL Premium Lounge was previously known as the rather long-titled Independent Smiles VIP International Lounge.It is a lounge that seems to carry on in limbo land, after the demise of Varig. It was once very much at the heart of Varig's premier experience, but that was a long time ago in the past, and now this lounge soldiers on, semi-independent.
The lounge is in terminal 2, airside. Once through Security Checks and Passport Control in the International Departures Area, turn left, and down the stairs: the Lounge is located in the basement, next to the TAM lounge.
United Continental Airlines intermittently use this lounge: it is actually marginally better than the TAM lounge, altough as a Star Alliance gold on United you can use both.
Basic finger food.
Free alcohol, free pour.
In the lounge.
There is a TV. That's about it.
